Thanks to historical and genetic, historical and typological methods, we revealed the changes that occurred in the attitudes of writers, poets and population of the occupied territories in the process of cooperation and knowledge of the art of literary intellectuals in conditions of severe political regime. The poets and writers tried to show their own vision of the situation in the occupied territories through their works, to reveal the daily life of ordinary Ukrainians; to maintain the patriotic spirit of the local population and its desire for freedom. Poetry of the occupation reflected the emotional experiences of the inhabitants of Ukrainian cities and villages, which were in the occupied territories, their aspirations and expectations.
